THE EEL, THE WEASEL AND THE VULTURE

SUKI (France, 5 min)

In the manner of the poet La Fontaine who «relied on animals to educate men», this fable poses the thorny question: «How to understand oneself when no one get along?». Through the text, the sound and the image, verb and sensations unite then, in a dark humor, for better thinking. Because the real object of this fable allows the spectator to conclude freely by himself instead of leaving him

NOT ONE OF US

Bill Jarcho (USA, 9 min)

Sparked by the racist rhetoric and narcissism of Trump, “Not One of Us” is an ominous warning about the perils of building walls in the name of greed, hegemony, and xenophobia.
Created in an 80s-retro clay animation style, the film’s sly humor and children’s fable visuals belies the urgent call to action at the heart of this dark allegory.

NECK AND NECK

Shaun Clark (UK, 5 min)

In the marital bed the surreal sensuality enveloping Othello and Desdemona is disturbed by a dangling telephone. As the phone pours poison into Othello’s mind he transforms into a different entity with detrimental consequences for Desdemona.

STROKE

Jiani zhao, Emanuele Romano (UK, 5 min)

The movie ‘Stroke’ was inspired by Dr Jill Bolte Taylor’s talk on her experience of having a stroke. What drew our attention to the story was how a stroke, commonly regarded as a negative experience, could be so positive and revealing for someone.
